National Honor Society
About the National Honor Society
The Fort Kent Community High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducts students in their 10th and 11th grade years. Active members attend regional and state leadership conventions; serve as chapter, regional and state officers; participate in at least 20 hours of community service; maintain good academic standing; and help organize multiple chapter projects.

Selection Information
Students are selected to the FKCHS chapter of NHS based on how well they exemplify the four pillars of NHS - scholarship, leadership, service, and character. At the end of quarter 3, all 10th and 11th graders with a GPA of 3.0 or higher receive access to a candidacy form and information about the selection process. An anonymous Faculty Council reviews candidates and determines selection based on the NHS Selection Rubric A formal Induction Ceremony is held in May to induct new members.
