JMG at Fort Kent Community High School

JMG helps students develop the skills, confidence, and connections they need to succeed in school, the workplace, and life. The FKCHS program is led by Mrs. Nicole Guimond, a proud graduate of Fort Kent Community High School who now gives back to the school and community that helped shape her.

JMG is a statewide educational nonprofit that partners with Maine schools, businesses, and communities. Its mission is to help students graduate from high school, pursue postsecondary education or valuable credentials, and prepare for meaningful careers.

Through classroom learning, community involvement, and career exploration, students develop important skills in:

• Leadership and teamwork
• Communication and public speaking
• Career preparation and workplace readiness
• Financial literacy
• Time management and positive work habits
• Community service and responsible citizenship
• Goal setting and planning for life after high school

The JMG experience helps students strengthen their connection to school, build confidence, improve academically, and gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them after graduation.

Connecting Students with Our Community

Fort Kent Community High School greatly appreciates our local business owners and skilled trades professionals. Their willingness to collaborate with our school provides students with experiences and real world knowledge that only those working within these professions can offer.

By sharing their time, expertise, workplaces, and personal experiences, our community partners help students explore possible careers, understand workplace expectations, and develop practical skills. These relationships connect classroom learning with real opportunities within our own community.

We are proud of the skills our students acquire through JMG and the partnerships that help make those experiences possible. Many of our students go on to work for local businesses, contribute to our regional workforce, or even establish businesses of their own. By working together, FKCHS, JMG, and our community partners are helping prepare the next generation to build successful futures while strengthening the communities they call home.
